The need to re-introduce Prize Giving Day to promote academic excellence at both Primary and Secondary Schools has again been emphasized.

OVERALL BEST STUDENT,MISS ESTHER OMOTOSHO

A Member of Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency 1, Mr Sanai Agunbiade made the call during the grand finale of Best Brain Contest he organised for Public Primary and Secondary Schools in Ikorodu today.

Mr Agunbiade implored schools to organise more academic competitions to propel students to read rather than paying to much attention on inter- house sports.


In a speech, former Commisione for Agriculture in Lagos State, Chief Kaoli Olusanya challenged students at all levels to read wide to become responsible individuals to themselves & the nation at large.


The Best Brain Contest in English Language, Mathematics & Civic Education which attracts two best students from each school in Ikorodu produced Miss Esther Omotosho of Odogunyan Grammar School,Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area of Lagos State as Overall best Student and went home with over One Hundred Thousand Naira and other valuables.



The event climaxed with presentation of Plaques, Trophies and Cash prizes to the best Schools and their representatives in each category of the contest witnessed by people from all walks of life including Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor, Mr Saheed Ibikunle.
